What is the difference in CBD Oil Strengths?

Shopping around for CBD and confused about what the difference is in CBD Oil Strengths?  With CBD being a newer compound to the mass market, there are certainly a flood of options. Not just in brand, but in type and strength, too. There are so many descriptors. What do all of these label numbers mean?  We understand that there’s a lot of information out there to have to take in. Here is a primer for understanding the differences in CBD oil tincture strengths.

First, be reminded that there are different types of CBD products and what natural compounds they carry: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate.

Full Spectrum CBD products have all natural elements of the hemp plant. These items will have CBD, Terpenes and a trace amount (.3%) of natural THC from the plant. Broad Spectrum products have CBD and Terpenes (flavoring cannabinoids) but the THC has been extracted.  At Medterra, we also work with CBD Isolate. This means that CBD Isolate products have isolated Cannabidiol (CBD), only, and nothing else. No Terpenes and no THC, guaranteed.  [Read More about CBD Isolate, here]

When reading the labels of our popular CBD isolate tincture oils, there are three differences in CBD strength that we offer: 500mg, 1000mg, and 3000mg. You will find this number on the front of your Medterra CBD tincture bottle label. Each tincture bottle contains 1 fluid ounce (30 milliliters) of hemp-derived, high quality CBD tincture oil. This is made with CBD isolate and MCT oil. [Read more about MCT Oil, here]

To break down CBD Oil strengths, let's look at our flagship CBD Isolate tincture product. The amount in milligrams on the front label is how much of our CBD isolate is in your entire bottle. Each tincture bottle comes with a dropper for choosing the serving size. The dropper has four differences in CBD strengths on it: .25 mL, .50 mL, .75 mL and 1.00 mL.  If a bottle is 30 milliliters, total, and there are 3000mg of CBD isolate in the bottle, then each full dropper (1ml) will yield 100mg of CBD isolate.

500mg 16mg
1000mg 33mg
3000mg 100mg

How do you know what to choose?

There is no absolute baseline or recommended dosage determined for CBD as it’s a wellness product that is newer to the mass market. A good thing to also remember is that there are variations in biochemistry and people’s own needs. Just as there are billions of people in the world, there are just as many different needs and results depending on the person. Each person trying CBD will have a different reaction to it based on their own body’s endocannabinoid system’s functionality and how they process and utilize holistic wellness products. It is always a good idea to start with a lower dose product and work your way into higher doses as you realize your own body’s needs and processing of the product. There is no push for you to buy more than you may want or need. Some say that they find success with only 5mg per day and others may consume up to 100mg of CBD oil in a single day to find the results that they’re looking for. Typically, the lower levels, like 500mg, are often just what someone with everyday functionality needs might find useful. Maybe they’re dealing with some base-level joint discomfort or life stressors and find a little bit of CBD is just what they need. When you get into the 1000mg level, it’s a higher potency of CBD and, thus, better for those who may be dealing with deeper issues. Above that, Medterra offers 3,000mg - our highest potency tincture. For those who are seasoned consumers of CBD, or those who feel they need a bit more punch, this is their choice. Each potency level will vary in color and flavor in accordance with their strengths so the higher strengths have a rich color and a more prominent note whereas the lower milligram levels of CBD tincture will be more clear in tone and taste. No matter which level you choose, know that you’re getting recognized, safe, high-quality CBD when you purchase from Medterra. We are passionate about the natural wellness property potential that has been studied with CBD, and we have put that passion into each and every Medterra product that goes out of our doors.  Should you have questions on where to begin, you can contact us: [CLICK HERE] to Contact Us or call (800) 971-1288 †Representations regarding the efficacy and safety of Medterra have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
