Frequently Asked Questions About CBD

What is CBD?

CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD is the active ingredient in virtually all of our products. Studies show that CBD may promote full-body balance, which can lead to all sorts of positive benefits.

I am from a state where it’s illegal to use medical marijuana. Can I still buy CBD oil?

Medterra's hemp is grown and extracted under the strict guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agricultural Industrial Hemp Pilot Program, which allows us to legally sell across all 50 states.

Do your products have THC in them?

That depends on the product. Our broad spectrum CBD products are tested to contain non-detectable levels of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, which Medterra defines for this product as less than 0.8PPM (PPM).

Our full spectrum CBD products, on the other hand, contain just under 0.3% THC by weight. You can view our third-party lab test results by clicking here.

Will I fail a drug test if I use your CBD oil?

It depends on the testing standards of the lab administering your drug test. Most lab tests only search for THC, which is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. Initial “point of care” drug tests can also confuse CBD for THC, resulting in a ‘false positive.’ If this happens to you, insist on more accurate confirmation testing. You can always contact a lab directly to verify exactly what will be tested.

Those of you who have an upcoming drug test may want to avoid full spectrum and broad spectrum products and switch to CBD isolate temporarily. When in doubt, consult your physician first.

What’s the difference between hemp oil and CBD oil?

The main difference is CBD content. Hemp oil is sourced from hemp’s seeds. It’s rich in healthy fatty acids but contains virtually no CBD. Hemp seed oil is used as a protein supplement for food, as varnish for wood, and is often used in hair and skin products.

CBD oil, on the other hand, is extracted from hemp’s flowering tops and is rich in CBD. At Medterra we utilize a whole plant CO2 extraction process that allows us to draw the CBD from plant material and filter out inactive ingredients while maximizing active ones.

What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS?)

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of cannabinoid receptors located in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors.

There are two main types of receptors in the ECS: CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 is generally found in the peripheral nervous system. Mammals produce two main endocannabinoids: 2-AG and anandamide. Read more by clicking here.

Questions About Medterra & Our CBD Products

Will Medterra’s products get me high?

Medterra's products by design are not intended to be psychoactive or get our customers high. Medterra's Isolate and Broad Spectrum CBD products do not contain any THC and, therefore, have no psychoactive ingredients.

While our Full Spectrum products contain 2mg of THC per serving, this is well below the amount that induces a high-like effect. However, if customers take multiple servings of our Full Spectrum products simultaneously, they could experience psychoactive effects.

As always, Medterra recommends our products be used as indicated. To find the perfect amount of CBD for you and your body, please remember to start with a low amount and increase as needed over 3 - 5 days.

Are there any extra fees or charges when checking out?

For domestic orders, no. For international orders to the UK, Japan, Germany, France, or Spain, please check with each of these websites for associated shipping fees.

What is your return policy?

If you are not satisfied with our products, you may request a refund of the full purchase price, minus shipping costs, within 30 days of the product received date.

In most instances, Medterra will cover the cost of return shipping. For more information on our return policies, please submit your request to support@medterracbd.com or call 800-971-1288 to speak to Customer Service.

If you purchased our product through a Medterra distributor or retailer, please go to the original purchase location for any return or exchanges.

Why do you source your hemp from Kentucky instead of Colorado?

Kentucky's ecology is perfect for growing hemp. The growing season is longer and the soil is richer than Colorado's, so the quality of the hemp is better. Growing under the Kentucky Hemp Pilot Program is also 100% compliant with Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill, which means harvesting and distributing is 100% legal at the federal level.

What kind of tests do you run on your products?

Each product is third-party lab tested and guaranteed to be free of contaminants like heavy metals, bacteria, microbial life, mycotoxins, and pesticides. Click here to view our third-party lab test results.

What is your rewards program?

Medterra's Rewards Program allows you to exchange points from purchases for discounts on future orders. Earn 2 points for every dollar you spend, then use these points towards your next order. There are even benefits for referring your friends. Give your friends 25% off their first order of $40 and get $25 in points for each successful referral.
